We need some serious help with my education. Computers or not?
I am a freshman in college, and I am a big pre-business. My dream in life is to be a part of a (hopefully successful) social media start-ups Web. Like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, I feel a great passion for social media and entrepreneurship, and I'm always interested in latest hot spots on the web. (More people / process behind it for later use). I do not know how to code web sites / program, not at this moment I think I'm interested. But I've come to the conclusion that, to establish contacts with people who will help my ideas a reality, I have to change my major to computer science and at the same time, acquire the skills necessary to be in this industry. Ive heard a lot of computer is extremely difficult, especially if you're not passionate about it. What do you think I do, I'm at a crossroads, and the need to make a quick decision. Thank you
Looks like you really do not understand what CS is a program. It is very technical, with lots of self-learning necessary for success because the classes will not teach you anything, you must be the one sitting with writing code for hours and hours day. Do not be late and the whole area is cumulative in knowledge. I stayed with the business side if you are not a "technology" type of person. You can always get in this area at the end of the business. But the sounds of it, they admitted that they are not interested in the technical part to move to CS will probably change again in future. CS has one of the highest rates for washing commanders.
