For me, fiction reading has helped me to understand others. Yes, fiction is very different from life real. But fiction allows you to enjoy a different view. You can get inside someone's thoughts and see what motivates them and how they perceive life. That is more than what comes out of real people, whose feelings are not written. Reading books helped me to understand and empathize with others better.
