Capital 101
"Let me introduce you to someone who might be able to help." Some people to build their reputation around this single line. As Malcolm Gladwell describes in his book advance, the turning point, those who say that line more often are called connectors. In essence, the connectors are responsible for the match. They have an enormous amount of contacts, and as such have much influence. This influence can be a social capital.
Even if all the connectors, many of us have an intrinsic desire to connect with others to strengthen and expand our community. For example, although not all projects may well payable in the short term, the capital of the client can immediately replace the monetary gain future work.

Since the creation of the Internet, the definition of a connector has changed. Links may take a few seconds or requiring any effort at all. Twitter followers and LinkedIn connections are totally different. While the follower of Twitter would require little or no effort, LinkedIn connection requires that you have an existing connection, directly or through a shared contact.
